Kurt Beil, ND, LAc, MPH

Dr. Kurt Beil is a naturopathic doctor and licensed acupuncturist.  Practicing since 2006, he incorporates the art & science of healing with his passion for teaching, learning, and his love of nature into every patient interaction.  He is dedicated to providing quality health care to residents of the Portland metro area and beyond.

Dr. Kurt attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where he earned a B.A. in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Evolutionary Processes, as well as a minor in Psychology.  During this time he was introduced to numerous concepts that shaped his perspective on health & wellness, including Daoist & Buddhist philosophy, Lakota spirituality, Shamanic practices, Ethnobotany, Quantum Energy Healing, and Complex Adaptive Systems Theory.

These experiences lead him to pursue further education from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM, now NUNM) in Portland, Oregon. While there he studied many natural and integrative medicine techniques, including extensive training in traditional European Nature Cure at the Kneipp-zentrum in Bad Wörishofen, Germany, and classical Chinese medicine at Yun Tai Guan (Cloud Platform Temple) and Chengdu University of TCM & Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital in China. In 2006, Dr. Kurt obtained his Naturopathic (ND) and Classical Chinese Medicine (MSOM) degrees and began his private clinical practice in Portland.

Focusing on chronic disease, Dr. Kurt uses the best of traditional and conventional medicine to provide holistic healing services to his patients. When he is not practicing medicine, he can usually be found with his family and friends (including his four-legged companion, Tadashi) camping, hiking, kayaking and otherwise exploring the extensive forests and mountains that Oregon has to offer.
